Artist: Samantha Rivera

“The world is my playground for art”, says Samantha, who has been painting and drawing since she was very young. A multi-talented artist who loves color, Samantha bounces between different mediums, never sticking strictly with painting. When she came to the Family Preservation Center at the end of 2005 she discovered the ArtSpace program and came in to start creating. The paintings she created during her stay at the FPC still adorn the walls of the building.
In the past year Samantha has turned her attention back to art and is currently focusing on portraiture, since she knows she will need it for school. Samantha is presently looking for the right school to study animation, though she realizes it will be a challenge raising children while pursuing her education. Her current goal is to create more art to sell. Samantha is confident she will achieve this goal as art is something she loves and recognizes her potential as an artist. She believes that the fact that she has found something she loves and is talented in makes her more successful than many.
